Technical Tuition

Many PC users don't understand how their computer works, or how to get the best from the the software they have installed. With many years experience in using a varied collection of software, and of reviewing software for a local PC user group, I can help you get the best out of the software you have. You can buy user guides for programs or read the manual, but there is nothing like having someone who knows how to use the software. I can provide one to one tuition either in person or via remote access to your computer via a secure Internet connection.

Many clients have asked what software to buy to be able to do a particular task, unaware that software bundled with the operating system can do it. So, as new operating systems are released, and they always will, I can advise you on how to get the best of what you have already.

If you want to understand how your computer works, I can help explain how all those bits and pieces inside your machine work together. With a better understanding of how your computer works, you will not be so confused if you ever need to buy any peripherals or new equipment. I can also help with explaining all the different connections at the back and more often these days at the front of your computer. Knowing what you can and cannot plug into your computer can help when upgrading your system. For example, if you update your PC, you may need to update your printer as well if it is an older model with a parallel connector, as modern PCs don't have that sort of connector.
